The Arona council is due to sign an agreement, possibly with Live Arico, for the collection of abandoned dogs, help with adoption and a campaign for more public awareness of abandoned animals.
Arona wants to create a protocol between the local Police and the Health department for the protection of animals with fines for abandonment and keeping potentially dangerous breeds. Fines will range from 1,500 to 15,000 euros.
