Accion-del-Sol first fitness club

A great start to our new dog / owner fitness club. We set off from the Arona Grand at 6.30 and done a brisk 5 kms walk along the sea front. The dogs were all very well behaved and they had great fun. It took us 1hour and we burnt up 300 calories. We attracted lots of interest and handed out many leaflets on the way giving people info on the Accion Del Sol dog refuge. Our next meeting is on the 30th of september meeting behind the Adheje Grand Hotel in Fanabe for lots of fun games with our dogs. K9 News:
An Open Day at the Kennels is planned for Sunday 17th October from 2pm to 5pm. There is to be a BBQ and a few stalls ie Books, Cakes, Tombola, Soft Drinks, K9 key- rings, T shirts, magnets & Xmas Cards. €1 admission includes raffle. Please support.
Jasmine flew to Switzerland on 22nd August. Within 48 hours she has been re-homed. Thanks to all concerned on behalf of Jasmine.
Terry & Viv are 2 of our regular Sunday dog walkers. They recently had a joint 60th birthday bash where donations to K9 were requested instead of cards etc. Thanks to them for €85 going towards the upgrade of the 4 kennels for newly admitted dogs.

Missing Perro

 

If you see this dog please ring 669.55.35.84 / 637.213.759. He was being cared for on a farm in Arona, but when the owner came back, they were told he had disappeared.

 

Estoy buscando al perro de la fotografía. El año pasado (junio 2009) por motivos personales tuve que salir de Tenerife y mi perro Gringo tuvo que quedarse en una finca de Arona, frente a Jungle Park, al cuidado del propietario de la finca.

Ahora (agosto 2010) he vuelto a buscar a Gringo a la casa donde lo había dejado, y el hombre de la finca me ha dicho que se escapó el verano pasado. Cuando desapareció el perro llevaba una cadena en el cuello. Es de color negro, tiene 7 años.

Si alguien lo ha visto o sabe donde está, ruego se pongan en contacto conmigo. Necesito saber si Gringo está bien o si alguien lo ha recogido.

Poor dog tied up by its tail and left to suffer

I was sent this photo from accion-del-sol, a poor pooch came into their refuge today which had been  tied up by the tail and the rope has caused considerable injury and suffering, as you can see from the photo.

It makes me barking mad how some humans can treat animals so badly.!

A real shame two doggy events on the same day.

This is a real shame there are two doggy events on the same day and same time .

Accion-del- sol are having their Bavarian fiesta click here and K9 are having a open day with BBQ, stalls etc  click here on the same day and time, 17th of October, it a real shame that the rescue shelters don't keep track a bit more of what each are doing so this doesn't happen.

Anyhow good luck to both shelters I hope you have a successful day.
